Cedrela — Chinese Toon

Cedrela, or Chinese Toon (Cedrela sinensis), is a striking deciduous tree valued for its fresh pink-bronze spring growth and attractive, aromatic foliage. The young leaves emerge with a beautiful flush of colour before maturing to green, then turning golden in autumn. With its upright habit and generous canopy, it makes an excellent feature or shade tree for larger gardens. The young leaves are also traditionally used in Asian cooking.
