Citrus — Calamansi

Calamansi is a compact and highly productive citrus prized for its small, intensely flavoured fruit. The fruit develops from green to orange as it ripens and has a sharp, tangy flavour that is wonderfully versatile in cooking, drinks, marinades and garnishes. Glossy evergreen foliage and fragrant white flowers give the tree year-round ornamental appeal as well as a useful edible harvest.

Harvest: Summer–autumn, with fruiting possible at other times in suitable conditions

Calamansi is particularly well suited to pots and small gardens and can be kept compact with regular pruning. Protect it from heavy frost and cold winds, particularly when young, and keep the soil evenly moist during flowering and fruit development.
